After day

we're alright where we're supposed to be

It’s done! for now. Until I decide to do more stuff with it. But for now it is done. I didn’t count how long this took. I significantly changed the structure a couple of times, and some of the lighting changed from the original plan.

Looking forward to doing more proper painting studies.

cupcake time!

As a little break from the regular posts – have a photo full of cupcakes πŸ™‚

I ended up making my own ganache-icing, and didn’t use the frosting packet that sneaked into the photo. I did use a packet mix to make the cupcakes though! I’ve decided cooking is fun and baking is lots of fun. Especially baking sweet things.

I may have made a few too many, though…

My adventures into the wonderful world of texturing 3d models

So one of my day-lives is as a full time student studying 3d art and animation, with a specific focus on making pretty things for video games. We’re up to our third assignment, character modelling, but have some renders of things I did for environment design:

I’ve decided I quite like modelling so far, and I really really like texturing.Β  This one was a team assignment, and we all had a few different bits assigned to us. My complex object wasn’t so bad, so I set myself two additional challenges: minimal polygons and refined textures. My general rule of texturing is make something I wouldn’t be embarrassed to see in a game I was playing. Especially if the game was very boring and I suddenly had a lot of time to examine textures and snark.
