I’m back, after an rather busy month that I was largely absent for! (Note to self: never be absent during busy event months again.)

I can now also reveal something else I’ve been published in: the Canberra Speculative Fiction Guild’s 2013 NEXT anthology. Yay!! Sadly, I was unable to make the launch, but I stopped by Conflux today to shake hands and get autographs (in my contributor copy o/~)! Here’s a little teaser of the illustration I’ve got in for Chris Large’s fantastic story, Girl Finds Key. One of the serious perks about illustrating for good fiction is getting to read said fiction.

I haven’t come back to an entirely calm and quiet life just yet – next Saturday (May 4), I’ll be at Impact Comics from 2pm doing free sketch cards. Come say hi and bring yourself a present home!

This started off as a loose sketch of an idea, and turned into a painting.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been busy painting and preparing for shows and exhibitions. I recently went to the Liedekijn exhibition launch, and there was something very exciting about receiving the catalogue and seeing my work on display (and in such fine company!)

Next week, I’ll be in The Young Ones exhibition in Canberra, showing off Miasma and another piece. While Liedekijn is (soon to be was 🙁 ) a fantastic sequential exhibition that pulled together many different pieces into a collaborative comic, The Young Ones promotes Canberra artists under age 25…a club I’m soon to graduate from, but it’s nice to get a piece in while I’m still eligible. 😉
